5. Why we process it, on what legal basis, and for how long

|---|---|---|---|
| Provide and maintain the App | Device / technical, app activity, on-device content | Contract / legitimate interests | While you use the App; local data until you clear app data |
| Fix crashes and improve stability | Diagnostics, device data | Legitimate interests; consent where required | Typically up to 14 months or vendor default |
| Understand feature use | App activity, device data | Consent (EEA/UK/CH ads/analytics where required) or legitimate interests | Aggregated / vendor retention windows |
| Show advertising (free version) | Advertising ID, device, ad events | Consent where required; otherwise legitimate interests within limits | Per ad network policy |

6. Sensitive permissions this app may request
Android may show runtime permission prompts. We only request permissions needed for features you use. Exact prompts depend on the App version and your OS. We do not use permissions to sell your personal information.
Bluetooth / nearby devices
Why the app asks: To scan for BLE advertisements from trackers and similar devices.
What this makes available: Nearby BLE signals while scanning is active.
Our commitment: Scanning is for your awareness features; we do not sell nearby-device lists for ads.
Location (if required by Android for BLE scans)
Why the app asks: Some Android versions require location permission to perform Bluetooth scanning even when a map is not shown.
What this makes available: Permission state required by the OS for BLE scans; location may also be used if a map feature is present.
Our commitment: Explain in-app where required; you can revoke in settings (scanning may stop).
Our commitment
We ask for a permission only when a feature needs it, explain the purpose in-app where required, and you can deny or revoke permissions in system settings (some features may then be unavailable).
7. Who receives data
We share data with service providers who help us operate the App. Typical recipients in current builds may include:
| Who | What it does | What it can receive | Their notice |
|---|---|---|---|
| Google AdMob | Advertising | Advertising ID, device/ad events | Google Privacy |
| Google UMP | Consent messaging (EEA/UK/CH) | Consent choices, device signals | Google Privacy |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Analytics | App events, device identifiers | Firebase Privacy |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Crash reporting | Diagnostics, device data | Firebase Privacy |
| Google Play Billing | Purchases / subscriptions | Purchase tokens, product IDs | Google Privacy |
| Google Play services | Platform services | As needed for Play features | Google Privacy |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect users or our rights, or in connection with a business transfer. Actual SDKs can vary by App version and region; check the in-app disclosures and Play Data safety section for the listing you use.
8. Advertising and your choices
If the free version of Tracker Alert & Device Scan shows ads, ad partners may process device and advertising identifiers to deliver and measure ads.
- In the EEA, UK and Switzerland, personalized ads generally require consent via our consent form (UMP).
- You can reset or limit your advertising ID in Android settings.
- You may also use industry opt-outs where available (for example, NAI / DAA tools) and Global Privacy Control signals where we honor them for applicable US laws — see our CCPA notice.
Limits we accept: We do not use lists of nearby tracker identifiers from your scans as targeting profiles for third-party ads.
9. Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland
Where required, we present a Google-certified consent management platform (UMP) so you can accept or refuse non-essential cookies/SDKs such as personalized advertising and certain analytics.
Consent choices are passed to Google advertising and measurement partners using industry signals (including TCF where applicable) and the consent signals Google requires for serving ads in these regions. You can change your mind later via the privacy options entry in the App (where provided) or by clearing app data and seeing the form again.
10. International transfers
We and our providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States and other locations where Google and similar providers operate. Where required, transfers rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions.
If you have questions about transfers, contact [email protected].
11. How long we keep data
- On-device content: until you delete it or uninstall / clear app data.
- Analytics & crash data: typically within vendor default windows (often up to about 14 months) or shorter if aggregated sooner.
- Purchase records: as needed for entitlements, tax, and dispute handling.
- Support emails: usually up to 24 months after the request is closed, unless law requires longer.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures appropriate to the nature of the App. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
13. Children
Tracker Alert & Device Scan is directed to a general audience and is not intended for children under 13 (or the higher digital consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below that age. If you believe we have, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
14. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
To exercise rights, email [email protected] and describe your request. We may need information to verify you. If the App provides a privacy ID or in-app deletion path, include that information to help us locate records.
You can manage Play subscriptions and purchases in your Google Play account settings.
15. Automated decision-making
We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects about you within the meaning of GDPR Article 22. Advertising and fraud systems operated by partners may use automated logic to decide which ads to show or whether traffic looks invalid; those systems do not determine your eligibility for essential services outside the App.
16. Notice to California residents
This section supplements the rest of this notice for California residents under the CCPA/CPRA. A fuller standalone notice is available at https://romajionline.date/tracker-alert-device-scan/ccpa.
We may collect the categories of personal information described in section 4 (identifiers, internet/electronic activity, geolocation approximate where used, commercial purchase info, and inferences drawn by ad partners). We disclose personal information to service providers and advertising partners for business purposes such as analytics, advertising, and security.
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising technologies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising under California law. You can opt out via the App’s privacy options (where available), your device advertising settings, and by contacting [email protected]. We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required and technically feasible.
California residents may request to know, delete, and correct personal information, and not be discriminated against for exercising CCPA rights. Sensitive personal information, if collected, is used only for purposes permitted by CPRA (for example, providing the service you request).
17. Notice to residents of other US states
Residents of states such as Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, and others with comprehensive privacy laws may have similar rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of targeted advertising or certain profiling. To exercise these rights, contact [email protected]. We will respond as required by applicable law.
18. Country-specific information
If local law grants you additional rights or requires additional disclosures, those rules apply. For Brazil (LGPD) and similar regimes, the purposes and categories above describe our processing; contact us to exercise rights. Nothing in this notice limits non-waivable consumer protections in your country of residence.
19. Changes to this notice
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new effective date and version number. When changes materially reduce your rights, we will provide additional notice in the App where appropriate.
- Version 2.0 (September 9, 2026): Restructured notice; removed outdated third-party representative claims; aligned sections with current Google Play and regional consent requirements; added package ID and product-specific data/permission disclosures.
